Frequently asked Questions

  • Yes! We’re a GrazeCart Consultant, a Shopify Partner, a Squarespace Circle member, and we’re Square Online Certified. We also work on Weebly, Wix, and Wordpress websites, among others.

If you’d like help choosing a farm e-commerce platform, we’ll start by asking about your current sales model and your farm’s specific needs. Then we’ll make a recommendation of the best-fit farm website platform to meet those needs — whether they include variable weight meat cuts, aggregated produce pick lists, CSAs, half pig deposits, home delivery, pre-order for pickup, ordering lead time windows and cutoffs, shipping, and just about anything else.

We have a GIANT spreadsheet of every platform and nearly every feature they offer, and if there’s anything you need that we haven’t pinned down yet, we’ll figure it out!

  • We work with all sorts of businesses and non-profits that are involved in local food, including:

✓ farm shops, farm buying clubs, CSAs, market vendors, & U-pick farms

✓ farmers markets & food events

    ✓ food councils & non-profits

✓ sugarmakers, cheesemakers, dairies, butchers, & bakers

    ✓ distilleries, wineries, & breweries

    ✓ farm-to-table restaurants

✓ health food stores & local food stores

  • Yes! We've worked with dozens of satisfied farms and local food groups across the U.S. and Canada. We'll stay in touch along the way via email, phone, video calls, and/or text — whichever methods you prefer.

Our team members are located in California, Colorado, Oregon, Indiana, New Jersey, Iowa, and Puerto Rico, and several of us travel regularly around the U.S. and Canada. We'll be happy to arrange a face-to-face meeting when we're in your area.

  • Yes! While we can help with big projects and ongoing work, we also have lots of clients who just ask us to do a single project here and there. We are happy to fit in wherever you need us.

  • The first step is to just get in touch, and from there we'll make it as easy as possible for you. We can work with text and images you already have, or we can start from scratch.

  • We don't require a long-term contract. We can go one project at a time. For projects like social media advertising, we can go month-to-month. For websites, your only financial commitment to us is limited to just the initial website development cost.

From there, you'll pay a reasonable monthly or annual fee for hosting — this pays for the servers and software that keep your website live on the internet. That arrangement is directly through the web hosting service or farm website platform, so you are in direct control.

  • Every marketing project we work on starts with a kickoff meeting where listen to your ideas, ask questions, and develop a complete understanding of your needs and vision.

You’ll let us know whether you plan to provide text and photos, or whether you’d like us to write your website copy and help with photography. (If you provide text for a fully custom website, we’ll still offer light editing as needed. If you choose one of our budget-friendly Essential Website packages, we’ll provide a friendly template for you to fill in text. The template walks you through the ideal structure for your text and even includes SEO tips.)

If you’ll be providing text and images, we ask for all content for website projects prior to beginning so that we can really build the site around the content and create the best possible website. If you’d like us to write the text, we’ll set up a call or a face-to-face meeting so we can ask more questions and start writing!

If you choose a fully custom website package, we’ll work together to plan and organize the website pages, developing thoughtful and user-focused site organization. We’ll design the site around your current content, with future growth and adaptability in mind. Our strategic approach to communication is one of the biggest benefits of hiring us to design your website, vs. DIY — it plays just as strong a role in the success of your website as professional design and functionality.

We’ll set a timeline together, and we’ll stick to it like glue. We’ll walk through the draft website together with you when it’s ready, and you can take your time to review it and give us your thoughts and edits. We’ll make adjustments based on your feedback, and continue the draft review/revision process as needed until you feel like your website is just right and ready to launch. (We offer several website packages, and each one has a set number of hours included for revisions.)

  • We'll never publish a website, social media post, or any other project without your approval. Our process allows for plenty of opportunity for you to give us feedback on our drafts, and then we'll make revisions accordingly. We also spend time up front to get to know each client and to develop a clear understanding of what they have in mind, so we find clients are usually very happy with our drafts!

  • That's okay, because we are! You don't have to have an understanding of social media or other technical knowledge to work with us. We won't speak marketing lingo. We'll do our best to explain the background on any recommendation we make, and we're always happy to answer questions. We'll do the hard part, and make it easy for you.

  • We offer a range of options, including new budget-friendly e-commerce packages, high-end custom website development, and a full range of other marketing services — get in touch and we’ll send a menu of services with current pricing.

  • Grapevine teammates work on farm marketing projects from their home offices around the country:

    • Gabriela works in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
    • Natassia works in Merrillville, Indiana.
    • Anna works in Sacramento, California.
    • Jacy works in Davenport, Iowa.
    • Brooklyn works in San Diego, California.
    • Allyson works in Detroit, Michigan.
    • Sarah H. and Jeffrey work in Grand Junction, Colorado — and beyond! Our Grapevine office (also our home) is a travel trailer, so we’re moving around a bit. So far we’ve spent a lot of time in Northwest and Central Indiana, Colorado’s Western Slope, both Florida coasts, Eastern Virginia, Washington, and Hawai’i (O’ahu). We’ll be in Utah for most of the 2022/23 winter, and we’ll see where else we end up! We'd be happy to arrange a face-to-face meeting when we're in your area.

We work successfully with clients across the U.S. and Canada via phone, email, and video chat. We deliver the same enthusiasm and commitment to each client, whether or not we meet face-to-face. Meet our team!
