Harvest of the Month Materials for Indiana Grown for Schools

With USDA Farm to School grant funding awarded to them, Indiana Grown for Schools had an opportunity to create marketing materials needed for their Harvest of the Month program.

But design heavy marketing resources that communicate a lot of information aren’t always doable in-house. And with a mission to get local food into Indiana schools, it was more important than ever that their print and digital collateral were engaging, both visually and educationally.

The team here at Grapevine Local Food Marketing was excited to take on the challenge of this multifaceted creative project! For their Harvest of the Month program, we designed:

✔️ Ingredient fact sheets that would draw adults and kids alike into learning about Indiana fruits, veggies, dairy, and eggs

✔️ Window cling sign to hang in cafeterias for quick glance local food promotion and engagement

✔️ Recipe one-sheeters for school foodservice use

✔️ Social media graphics designed for use by schools across the state, complete with suggested captions for optimal engagement, and image sets that include an optional slot for school logo

✔️ Press release templates for schools to spread the word about their farm to school initiatives

✔️ An interactive online hub to collect all farm-to-school resources in one place — including the collateral we designed as well as resources from other participants around the state

Have you also been awarded a USDA grant? It’s a great opportunity to invest in marketing efforts that have a real impact on your local food initiative, organization, or farm business. We’d love to connect!

"I just spent some time looking through the Harvest of the Month Hub and it is INCREDIBLE! Thank you for all of your fantastic work — we are very excited to see this come to life."
